Much better Raw import control, smart filters, improved Bridge and others. Some changes to the interface, but nothing I can't live with.

Good to hear they have improved Bridge, ive had a few problems with it locking up and crashing at work when i am trying to browse files!

I'll have to have a look at that for the Raw import, something I've been tinkering with lately.

Anyone had a look at Lightroom. I had a quick look and seems okay. I must have an in-depth look though, just to get some kind of verdict on it.

I've messed around with Lightroom, but I much prefer Aperture. I find the workflow easier and more flexible, and the performance is better on my machine.

Do you take photographs on a professional or amateur basis? Just curious as I did my first professional job a couple of weeks ago and want to set up an effective workflow for myself.

Both

Workflow is a very subjective thing - you're better working out what suits you rather than copy someone else. Two pieces of advice though ...

(a) Work it out before you are snowed under and have looming deadlines

and

(b) Backup RAW files before you do anything else. Then make backups of the backups.

I generally don't save adjusted files very often. I just have stacks of RAW (and jpegs) which I back up to DVD every now and then. Perhaps I should start backing up to a schedule, just in case

. Thankfully I've never lost a lot of stuff before, but, better safe than sorry.

I find it quite handy for previewing all the various files scattered here and there

There's an interesting debate sparking up over the new icons for CS3. Veerle is for the new icons and Jason Santa Maria is flying the flag for the againstbrigade. I'm with Veerle myself.

Can't say I like the icon too much, though AI is a bit better. I'd have preferred a subtle redesign of the CS2 icons.

not bad a lot simplier than the last lot, but a change like this is noticable, will get to like them, but would liek to see a more 3D reflection look like firefox, flash ones etc

Bah!

The better interface. more in tune with After Effects 7 is an improvement but the other stuff is, er....., stuff I will never use. Other than being Universal Binary for OSX don't see any need to upgrade it!
