Hello 'all' (not sure how few that applies to these days?? )
Anyway, I'm going to migrate to a different server system today with my host.
Whilst this is happening, the forum might not be accessible for a little while. They say around 20 mins downtime but it might be more, might be less?

OK. I've just started the auto process. However, this is going to take most of the day with no effect on this site or forum.
However, once it's done the magical things it needs to do, the database name is going to change and I have to update it here.

You'll probably notice that as soon as I physically become involved in the process, something will go tits up. If something does go wrong. I'll post it up on the other CA forum.

The automated 'packing' in preparation for migration (<< what a load of faff ) is due to be complete by 10 pm tonite (didn't realise it would take sooooo long) so I probably won't do it until tomorrow now.

So, hold on to your hats.

BTW This is only to do with my hosting and not this forum. So, other than pointing the forum to the new DB address, everything should be OK and unchanged (famous last words)

How's the forum running these days?
For me, it seems to take slightly longer to load than it did? Or is it just me?

Also, the spammers have been really p**sing me off, despite installing loads of different 'anti-spam' mods. (4+ per day )

I've just set up another one.
