Is it a Cortina?
Paul: re Mienorca. North coastline rather rugged and windy. South much better with lovely hidden cove beaches but many, many jelly fish when we were there.
Statue / monument on hill in middle of island similar to the one in Rio D Janero. Monestary type thing or something but worth a visit.
Mahon and Cuitadella are both nice. Mahon has the deepest natural habour in the world (I think. It was a while ago I was there and i might have this wrong).
Cuitadella is a really lovely, old colonial type town with some great buildings.
Below Mahon is Binabeca (or something like that) where there's a 'white' town. Nice beaches too.
North west of the island (somwhere, can't remember exactly) there are some old, man made caves that you might like.
If you have a car, do try to explore. Especially the south coves. We found one that was down a road that turned into a farm track which turned into a dusty path (looked like the Austaralian outback) that, after about 4 miles, opened out on the the most beautiful, secluded, white sandy cove. Perfect. This is what shagged the hire car
There are also some nudist beaches there somewhere but me and my binoculars never did find them
