A possible new direction for Citizen Art

OK, here's a quick (as quick as i can be) synopsis of the events leading up to the point of writing this mail, most of which you know.

I wanted to sell some of my work. Not for megabucks but £10 to £20 per print. Nothing too scary.
I had my local print shop run off a few A3 prints for me but they were pretty bad. I looked into getting A2 prints done but for the 600 prints I wanted would have cost me close to £3k.

So, I decided to buy the A2 printers & for reasons I'm not going in to now, I finally ended up with the two massive Epsons

Anyway, I've had quite good results from selling my stuff direct (around £1000 over 3 days)

However, I've currently printed enough of my own stuff over the last month to last me quite a while, soooooo ...

... I'm thinking of trying to do something else so the printers are not sat idle in the mean time (they need almost constant attention when running and even more so when they aren't used regularly).

So, I'm thinking of getting the CA main website (not this forum) set up so people send me pdf artwork of anything they think would look good at A2 / A3, I'll feature it and try to sell it. All they'd have to do is send me the PDF or something I can print from. I'd sort out the rest: deal with customers, print and send. Now I'm not thinking of charging too much; perhaps £20 for A2 and £12.50 or something for A3. This would be the same for everybody / every design/ image with perhaps a 50/50 split for us. (not sure about that bit yet )
So, what this means is the forum might change a little, if I actually do this.

I saw this post on the ad riddled shite forum over there. Good idea I'd say. I was going to ask how the VW show went and if you sold much. I assume you did ok?

Sounds like a good idea Morph, I work in a printers and i think those prices are very reasonable.

I must have missed loads of posts on here cos i didnt know anything about your purchases.

Now that I have bought myself a digital camera I might send you a few photos to print!

great idea matey, I was only mentioning to the missus that I knew a few people(1) with a large printer. We went to a photographers a few weeks ago and went back last tuesday and had some really nice images, but they were expensive for large ones, so got 3, 7 by 5 with 11 by 7 frames, (they come with the frames, and spent about £500, we needed them as no nice photos of us as a family etc and these were actionshots etc the company being (Venture Photography) If I was not at the viewing the missus would have bought more, Phew, but if I can get the ones we got out of the frames (have to wait several weeks for) I was going to ask if you could copy them onto larger sheets.

I think thats a cool idea matey, glad its going well.
