Woohoo. N
My new camera just arrived. Only had time for a quick fiddle before the battery really was flat and needed it's first charge.
I think this is the first 'new' camera I've ever bought. In fact, it's actually quite rare for me to buy anything brand spanking new as I'm usually happy with second hand.
But, because I'm quite taken with photography (in a limited, amature way) I think this is probably quite overdue.

Rock and roll. Here's a rare and candid photo >>

It's a Panasonic FZ18 8mp with 18x optical zoom and a 28mm to 504mm Leica lense.
I wanted a DSLR but, firstly, even the lower range models were a bit out of my price range ATM. But I also don't think I'd have taken it everywhere with me due to the size / weight.
The FZ18 is still pretty big compared to my current camera but it's not huge and is quite light. It cost me just over £200 which was a bargain and included a 2gb SD card.
It supports RAW & JPEG. It also allows full manual adjustment of focus, aperture & shutter speed as well as being able to focus at 1cm. 8)
All in all 1000x better than my old 1.9mp 2x optical Pana f7

It's arrival just made my day as i wasn't expecting it until the end of the week.

What, a beanbag cow pinned to the wall with a piece of formed, sheet metal?

Do you know, I recently sold an original popes nose. Bummer for you :(

I had a pair of 60s rear lights too. Can't remember what they we're known as now but they were the small oval ones. Bummer pt II
