What digital camera?

Post by morphim » February 13th, 2007, 5:10 pm

Hello

I want to buy a digital camera. Probably not new but some blinding deal off ebay. What would be worth looking for?
I have a tight purse string of £200 max and I don't mind it being a year or so old.
I'd like something with interchangable lenses?? (not sure at what price this kind of things starts at, even for second hand??)
I'd also like RAW capability if poss.

Am I asking too much on my budget??

I suppose, at the bare min. it just has to be better than my 2 megapx Panasonic.

Any expert advice gratefully received.
What do you guys have??

I have a D70 - not sure, but you might be able to get one off Ebay for that price. I also have a general Nikon 28-70 zoom, a Sigma 10-20 wide angle and a Sigma 105 macro. I use a Nikon SB600 flash. Keeps me happy!

I currently have a Canon EOS 300D. You might get one for dirt cheap at this stage seeing as the 400D is out (after the 350D).

Either way I'd stick with Canon or Nikon to be honest. Sigma provide cheaper lenses for both and the build/image quality will be good. It's personal preference in relation to make.

Thanks Owen. I'll take a look at the 300D.

I looked at the Nikon Paul mentions, on Ebay. They are going for just over £200 for boxed bodies only, which is a bit more than I can afford at the moment.

I'll keep my eyes peeled though.

Cheers both of you :D

I'm surprised you didn't ask all of your pals at the CA forum. Could 69d not tell you what camera to buy.

F**kin prick   .

Sorry, Morph, but I really enjoyed that. hehe.

The 350D is basically the next model in the 300D line. There are a few improvements on the 300D. The one that I played around with had a stronger body, the 300D admittedly is a little creaky. The 350D is a good camera, but what I do know of the Nikon cameras you get a better lens as part of the kit.
