yup! that time.

Surveillance CCTV technology.

If you have time could you leave your comments and thoughts about the subject.

In todays world technology has grow ten fold and none so than with CCTV surveillance. Especially in the UK, where we are the leaders in CCTV coverage per person 1 camera per 12 people and growing. The technology is so advance now that if required an entire area can be screened etc I am looking into the future and where next?

Do you feel that the use of CCTV today is to much? or what ever, let me know your thoughts and ideas and any situations where you have experienced CCTV etc.

thank you

CCTV cameras are on the increase over here in Ireland. Naturally they are mainly found in the built up urban areas, but I have noticed the odd few creeping into smaller towns, though mainly for private use (banks, businesses) and not state owned.

The only instance where I have personally heard of CCTV footage being used was in a case regarding a colleague of mine. His younger brother basically got harassed by two guys in a pub who then went home to get a baseball bat and a crowbar. When he left the pub they beat him to death. It was all caught on CCTV and both of the guys were convicted (of manslaughter I think).

I personally don't feel too intimidated by cameras in public areas. As long as they don't impinge of my personal life I'm not that bothered.

That's a quick thought from me anywho.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

I must agree that cameras in public places shouldn't be an issue as only people up to no good are affected. My real problem is with speed cameras because we know they're just a revenue generator.

(Sad to hear about the guy in the pub. Fucking typical of our dysfunctional society and a screwed up legal system where a pre-meditated multi-person attack with a weapon can become manslaughter. Makes me feel so sick)
