That's terrific.
1. How many shots did you take to get this one?
2. Can I have your camera?

1. About 300
2. Oh, go on then ...
In case anyone thinks I'm claiming this technique as my own invention, I got the idea from the last issue of Digital Camera Magazine. Always worth a look.
I'm still playing around with different sized vessels and trying to get a classic "crown" effect, but it's quite difficult. Might try a new medium, eg milk, oil or syrup.
And yes, the D300 is lovely.
Thanks for the comments guys.

I took around 500 shots last year during a night-time thunderstorm ... obviously hoping to capture some fork lightning.
What did I end up with?
500 pitch black shots of the night sky. Brilliant. Thanks goodness for digital images.
Keep us posted with your progress.

If you can get one with an upside-down reflection of you and the camera in it (genuine), I'll be REALLY impressed
