Hard drive and motherboard failures ahoy. Since buying the macBook I'm not spening any more money on PC's, and looking to swap this turkey for an iMac. Any advice on models, things to look for etc? My MacBook has the superdrive so that's not too important so is the real difference the screen, in terms of model/price?

Anyhoo, since the blaze of responses I managed to squeeze a new 27" iMac into the passenger seat of the car (only after putting the roof down though) and had a slightly red-faced drive back through Staines the other day. Funny looks from many to see why my passenger was a surprisingly large cardboard box. It now has pride of place on my desk and even though they're impressive to see in the shops, only one word once you get one home - stunning. Happy happy me )

Sorry mate, never saw the original posting. It's usually "below the crease" on my monitor, but still don't know how I missed it.
Congrats on your choice of iMac. Another successful conversion! Steve Jobs owes me big time.

'tis lovely. I don't need to run two monitors anymore! Only one lesser point though (and something I knew about before purchase) - The cool little bluetooth keyboard may end up in a cupboard as I have a corded 'proper' (with numpad etc) one I bought to go with the macbook ages ago. The new one's great and has a nice feel but my other one def. offers more functionality. I'm a bit torn and don't know what to do!

Don't worry too much Paul.

I'm sure you could be forgiven for missing the first post a year & a quarter ago.
However, nice move on the iMac Cow. Have you kept the box to travel around with?
How was Can-ada as the natives sometimes think it.

Not been to Canada yet. Heading there in a couple of months.
Right now though - time for a bacon sandwich, back later...
